Read about the latest Alabama Forever Wild land protection, adjacent to Tannehill State Park near Bessemer and Birmingham.

The article tells about the board of the state’s land preservation program, Forever Wild, voting Thursday to pursue the purchase of 560 forested acres adjacent to Tannehill Ironworks State Historical Park, a move that would create a park of more than 2,000 acres, expand camping and hiking opportunities and possibly add canoeing to the park’s arsenal of activities.

This land, soon to belong to the people of  Alabama, is a great example of why Alabama Land Trust supports renewal of the Alabama Forever Wild program as is.
